Circular walk along part of the Saxon Shore Way starting in Lower Upnor . Meet 10.30am in car park next to Arethusa Venture Centre (Post Code: ME2 4XB or GR TQ763712), approx 5 miles, dog friendly, Pier Hotel pub at end of walk. contact Martin

 

Sat 24th

Daytime

Off road cycle ride around London docklands and the River Lee Country Park . Start at the foot tunnel entrance at Greenwich . Approx 14 miles. Contact Ian for details of travel and times.

 

Evening

Silver Band playing west end musicals.  Working Mans Club in Tovil, Maidstone , 7.30pm £5.00 includes light cheese/crackers. Money goes to Heart of Kent Hospice. Contact Julie asap if interested.

Walk from the front of East Malling Church 10.30am.  approx 5 miles Through field/woods (maybe muddy in places) towards Ditton common and  back through the East Malling Horticultural Research Station with some great views of the Medway Valley & North Downs. Drink afterwards. Parking at E. Malling Railway Station. Contact Catherine

Daytime

Circular walk of 6.5 miles from Visitor Centre of Lullingstone Country Park, (Postcode: DA4 0JF or GR TQ526638).  Meet in car park at 10.30am. Nearest station: Eynsford (1.5 miles) This walk travels along the Darent Valley path to the charming village of Shoreham . A couple of challenging climbs to negotiate but some fantastic views of the valley. Mostly off road and country lanes, with 10 stiles. Refreshment Golf club or Kings Head pub in Shoreham. Does anyone fancy a Ceilidh? 7.45pm  Its part of the Canterbury festival. The third annual Blean Ceilidh with the Green Band. Bar with regional ales and snacks.  Tyler Hill Memorial Hall, Summer Lane, Tyler Hill CT2 9NJ (GR TR141608) £8.50 Contact Martine ASAP for tickets.

Walk from The Green Man, Hodsoll Street (Postcode: TN15 7LE or GR TQ625630 [OS Map 188]) Meet in pub car park at 10am approx 4 mile walk. A very enjoyable rural walk that undulates through woods, across farmland and along short stretches of quiet country lanes, via the picturesque village of Stansted . Volunteering conservation work in Vinters Park Nature Reserve,   Maidstone (GR TQ778562  or Postcode ME14 5PT)  with Warden Steve Songhurst.  Meet Lodge Road outside Warden’s shed at 9.30 a.m.  Bring packed lunch if you intend to stay till 3.30 p.m.  Tea/coffee and biscuits provided.  Contact Alison if you would like to attend.

Clean Sweep Environmental day. Organised litter pick with another countryside volunteer group in an area of natural beauty. It’s our opportunity to join in and contribute!
